Gloria Thalasso & Hotels reaches The TUI Umwelt Champion award

Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel****, Gloria Palace Amadores Thalasso & Hotel**** and Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa****sup, receive the outstanding recognition of TUI Umwelt Champion 2020 for their environmental management, as well as for the care and protection of their surroundings. These place have been renowned as the best sustainable hotels in Spain and they are within the top 100 internationally.

This award represents a special honour for those hotels that achieve technical and organizational requirements related to sustainable and responsible management. Those are connected to a assessment method  by official auditors who verify that a series of measures that respect the environment are being achieved and also take into account the opinion of guests through various surveys.

Since 2007, the company has been investing renewable sources. Currently, all the hotels have facilities that produce clean energy, such as a solar thermal plant, two photovoltaic plants, three biomass boilers and even an aerothermal installation which allows us to obtain energy from the surrounding air to cover the heating, cooling and sanitary hot water demand, in this way it is replaced the consumption of fossil fuels through the use of these energy sources.

More than 80% of the energy needed to heat swimming pools, hotel sanitary water, Thalasso and Spa is generated with renewable energy.
