Lanzarote is the northernmost and easternmost of the Canary Islands archipelago. With a subtropical climate, it is known as the “Island of Volcanoes” due to the volcanic land that extends itself throughout most of its surface and also due to the more than 25 volcanoes that you can find in the famous Timanfaya National Park, located in the south central part of the island.
Puerto del Carmen
One of the main tourist areas in Lanzarote. Located in the municipality of Tías, in the central part of the island, Puerto del Carmen is just 7.5 miles from the capital Arrecife, 10 minutes from the international airport and 20 minutes from Timanfaya National Park.
Golf, snorkelling, surfing, sailing, hiking, cycling, go-karting… A whole world of sports thanks to the perfect combination of beaches and nature. La Geria, the Famara massif or the Ajaches mountains are perfect places to enjoy long strolls in the open air.
Leisure and culture
The cultural and leisure proposals of Puerto del Carmen are never ending: museums, wine cellars, crafts, Carnival in February, Canarian wrestling competitions and shows, shops, restaurants…
