The adventure of Gloria Thalasso & Hotels began in 1988…
… when Basque entrepreneur Estanislao Mañaricúa, a huge lover of the Gran Canaria after spending his honeymoon there with his wife, Valentina Aristondo, decided to built an innovative 4-star hotel in the area of San Agustín, which he baptised as Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel. A great entrepreneur and visionary, Mañaricúa was a pioneer in incorporating thalassotherapy services in a sun-and-beach hotel in Gran Canaria, a hotel concept that back then only existed in some European countries.
More than a decade later, in 2003, Mañaricúa created Gloria Palace Amadores Thalasso & Hotel, a 4-star hotel that would be turning point for Costa de Mogán, activating once again the tourism industry in the area. The hotel group kept on growing and 2008 saw the birth of its third hotel: Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa, a 4-star superior hotel located on Playa de Amadores. The latest incorporation to the chain up to date was Gloria Ízaro Club Hotel****, which took place shortly after wards, this time in the magnificent tourist area of Puerto del Carmen, in Lanzarote. Today, his sons Jose María, Arantza and Estanislao continue their father’s legacy with dedication and the firm commitment of offering a hotel experience where quality, good service and respect for the environment are the fundamental pillars.

Tourism Importance Silver Medal (2007) awarded by the Town Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
Silver Roque Nublo of Gran Canaria (2012) as pioneer of health tourism, posthumously awarded by the Council of Gran Canaria to the Group’s founder.
Gold Medal of Tourism Excellence (2012), awarded posthumously to the Group’s founder by the Government of the Canary Islands.
Canario Award to Business Excellence (2014) in its 5th edition, awarded by the Government of the Canary Islands in the Medium-Large Company category.
EMAS AWARDS 2014 . Nomination for GLORIA PALACE AMADORES Thalasso & Hotel, with its project.
